1995 Toyota Supra Twin Turbo

Completely and utterly brilliant car. In every single way:

Supremely comfortable

As easy to drive as a Fiesta

Great build quality

One of the best engines ever developed for a road car

100% reliable

... and of course it is Rocket-ship fast

I sold the Rover Coupe and took out a small loan for this next car - but what a car it was! I had never driven anything like this before - it just excelled in every single way... and of course in terms of acceleration and speed it just left everything I had before for dead! An incredible car.. if you've never driven one then you really need to try one, just to see what they're like - it's like being in a video game.

Anyway, the car was a Japanese import (bought from Vine Place), with only 25500 miles on the clock, in absolutely incredible condition - I doubt I'd find one like it again.

I was going to transfer the Xbox-Linux in-car media system into this car, but never got round to it.. I also went off the idea of the the big Xbox and power convertor and tried a tiny PC-based system for a while. It worked well, but eventually I got tired of having a visual interface, remote controls etc.. and went back to the well thought out and designed Pioneer radio/cd changer combination.

The Supra lasted over 3 years, during which time it needed no work other than 3 yearly services and a single set of brake pads. It was surprisingly economical, averaging 28mpg. I'd never driven an automatic before, and after driving the Supra auto, I think any auto box less than the Supra's would be a massive dissapointment. If I could afford it, I'd have another Supra TT auto as my everyday car tomorrow!
