Replacing standard speakers
Situation: standard speakers still fitted - crackly, quiet and muffled.
Response: junk 'em and fit new Infinity components!
Below: Step 1. Remove door pocket and screw off speaker grills (mid-range grill is clipped on and requires some leverage to remove - use a flat bladed screwdriver). Remove retaining screws and speaker terminals. Cut out original crossover (it's screwed through from the back of the door card!) and strip the ends to fasten to the new crossover.
Below: Step 2. Refit replacement mid-range using existing terminals. Tweeter needs to be fitted using the original basket and the retaining bracket supplied with the speakers. Original basket needs to be turned round to face the other side in order to give the back of the speaker enough clearance.
Below: Step 3. Admire handiwork and turn the volume up!
