The Pin-up model
So, I sold the Supra and the completed MR2 project - after something as awesome as the twin turbocharged Supra there's not much in the way of cars that you can really go to and still get the same kind of awe.
I narrowed down the list of cars to the Lotus Esprit V8, TVR Cerbera V8 and the Porsche 911 Turbo - of those the Lotus seemed to suffer from very expensive engine problems (specifically, cylinder liners) and the TVR was of questionable reliability; however I did take a trip to a TVR dealer to have a second look. Once I sat in the Cerbera though I knew it had to be discounted... it was just way too uncomfortable, with a kit-car like pedal box and narrow, cramped seats (and I'm not overweight or massively tall either!). So it was a search for a 911 Turbo.....
It took a while, but I finally found one :)
1993 Porsche 911 3.3 Turbo with 65000 miles - a very late model; almost
certainly one of the last ever 3.3 Turbos
Metallic 'Black Pearl effect' paintwork
Cashemere beige and black leather interior
Original specification car (320bhp, LSD, sunroof, leather, 17" Turbo
Cup wheels etc); unmolested and unmodified.
Since buying the car I have done a few little jobs on it
Replacing worn front door speakers and crossovers
Replacing rear catalytic convertor and painting exhaust tips
Below: Current pictures of the car
Below: Interior - cashmere and black two-tone.
Below: Earlier pictures with the original amber indicator lenses and side repeaters - I thought they looked a bit naff on such a nice car!
