====== Großer Hund ====== * Manufacturer: Hasegawa * Part number: MK05 * Year of production: 2011 * Scale: 1/20 * Series: Maschinen Krieger / SF3D * Kit type: Articulated model kit (>200 parts), poseable with polycaps * In-universe role: Humanoid Unmanned Interceptor, //Strahl Democratic Republic forces// * Build date: ??? I bought this kit new, from a seller on Yahoo Auctions Japan, using Buyee.com, in July 2021. It was cheap (£26) - less than the same model was showing in Hobby Link Japan for an upcoming production run of the same kit, so it was a no-brainer to pick up. ===== Tools Used ===== ===== Colours Used ===== ===== Background Info ===== The //Großer Hund// (read that as //Grosser//, in UK English; literally 'big dog') is the basis of several autonomous humanoid robot designs used by the //Strahl Democratic Replic// forces to fight against the //Mercenary// armies. The //Großer Hund// is the basic version; armour plates loosely covered a mechanical inner frame that is somewhat of a departure from the usual human-controlled powered suit designs. It mounts a power laser on its left arm and has several guided-missile launcher tubes on it's back - compared to most fighting suits, it is significantly more powerful. The **Dachshund** variant is most similar to the //Großer Hund//, but has additional sensor built into the head, making it more effective at searching for and acquiring targets: The **Kyklop** (aka //Cyclops//) is a heavily armed ground variant, featuring additional guided-missile launcher tubes and improved sensors like the //Dachshund//. The **Altair** is a space based interceptor, sharing most of the features of the //Großer Hund//, without the Dachshund head sensors. I also have one of these in my collection. The **Vega** is a space based interceptor, based on the upgraded sensor package of the //Dachshund//. The **Schwarzer Hund** is another space based interceptor, virtually identical to the //Vega// with some minor updates. ===== Box Contents ===== Firstly, the box is pretty big - as big as the a decent sized Master Grade Gundam kit, and it is //packed full// - there are a total of **nineteen** frames of parts; there are some duplicates (two arms and two leg sprues), but there are also alternate version parts. It's definitely __not__ a kit for the first time modeller. * Instruction manual * Waterslide decal //instructions// * Painting guide / info card * 1x Waterslide decal sheet * 19x Parts sprues * A1 (Großer Hund), black, legs * A2 (Großer Hund), black, main body, engine parts, arm * B (Großer Hund), black, engine, backpack cover, shoulder armour * E (Großer Hund), black, foot, skirt armour * E (Großer Hund), black, foot, skirt armour * G (Großer Hund), black, laser cannon * I (Großer Hund), black, panzerfaust * I (Großer Hund), black, panzerfaust * K (Großer Hund), black, connecting parts/joints(?) * N (Großer Hund), black, legs, inner frame * N (Großer Hund), black, legs, inner frame * X (Großer Hund), clear, sensor covers * Q (Großer Hund), black, head, hands * R (Großer Hund), black, top armour (alternate, //early version//) * S (Großer Hund), black, top armour (alternate, //late version//), joint covers (//late version//) * V (Großer Hund), black, rivets, smoke launchers * V (Großer Hund), black, rivets, smoke launchers * W (Großer Hund), black, rubber hoses * PC-3, grey, polycaps * 1x Bag wires Box art: Instructions: Waterslide instructions: Painting guide: Waterslide decals: Parts sprues: Multimedia parts: ===== In-Progress Images =====
