Need a Soviet era helicopter to go along with the US models. The “Hind” is the perfect candidate:

The intention would be to paint / decal this as a Ukrainian example.

I first bought one of these kits (the Mi-24P) from Ebay.co.uk, for £22 including postage - but the delivery company; Evri, lost it and it never turned up after an extra week after the expected delivery date. The seller reimbursed me without question.

Second model was ordered from Ebay.co.uk from seller Models For Sale Ltd - in this case I swapped to the Mi-24VP, as the aftermarket decals had a nice Mi-24VP colour scheme I preferred over the Mi-24P designs.

These kits include a set of crew figures (pilot/co-pilot), so aftermarket parts are not needed.

Eduard.com also makes two photoetched sets for this model:

These can be bought as a combined set of both (labelled 73-678), or just as SS678. I bought just SS678 (mainly interior detail) from https://www.jadlamracingmodels.com/.

  • See Eduard.com for more details. These are available from most good models / model spares stockists.

Since I didn't want to display this as a Soviet (or Russian) piece, the included decals are not much use. Fortunately there is a company making aftermarket decals specifically in Ukrainian colours/markings to reflect real world unit numbers within the Ukraine armed forces:

If you are in the UK, then Hannants are able to supply these: https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/FBOT72058 - which is where I ordered a set from.

  • See Foxbot.com.ua for more details - these are widely available across most online model stores.
