Sigma 105mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM Macro		2021	Bought second hand. My first dedicated macro lens. Quite a heavy lens, but I'm really very impressed with this.
Tokina 11-16mm F2.8 AT-X Pro SD (IF) DX	2012	2012	Bought second hand. My first dedicated wide-angle lens. Compact and well built; quite pronounced chromatic aberration in long exposures, but otherwise really rather good.

Early Digital Camera History

I've had some of the really early digital cameras when they first appeared on the market. Looking back at some of the first ones (the Samsung!) they are laughably poor in terms of technology and quality… I think it was really only the convenience factor (no need to send your film away to get it developed) that spurred on the adoption of these very basic devices.

Smartmedia was one of the early mass-market solid state storage mediums and was quite popular for a while.
